Stem Cell Vote Today

The Democrats' bill to provide funding for embryonic stem cell research is up for vote today. It will undoubtedly pass, but President Bush has promised to veto it, saying the measure, "would use federal taxpayer dollars to support and encourage the destruction of human life for research," despite the fact that this "human life" is a sphere of 100 undifferentiated cells with no chance of having a consciousness, making it difficult to call it a "human being." At this time, it does not look like the House will have enough votes to override the veto, but time will tell.
